II:3 Material changes in circuit breakers
In a circuit breaker, an arc appears which is put out with a strong, short gas flow. The components of the breaker, which are made of metallic or polymeric materials, are influenced by radiation from and thermal contact with the arc. In this project the heat transfer of the ionized gas, due to convection, conduction, emission and radiation is investigated, as is it s effect on material changes.
